I spent last week in the hospital with bleeding ulcers. I am on multiple meds for nerves and depression. My frustration continues to grow as our “Christian Leaders” fail to condemn bad behavior in the interest of political gain. I am sickened by our anti-immigration rhetoric and the failure of our county to remain a beacon of hope to the world.
I understand your viewpoint. I also care; however, I believe the root of the problem is in their country’s leadership. The people coming this way are leaving behind the really unfortunate. We need the compassionate here to take their resources to them; in other words, we need some Mother Teresa’s. Oh, but nobody really cares THAT much. The strength of the people leaving does nothing for the masses they are leaving behind. Sorry about your illness; hope you get better soon.
Give me statistics please, by the way it was a good read, stats?
Mine is also about a hungry child, but in mine the child does not have strength to cry, certainly not to be taken on a 2500 mile walk. Great haiku.
