Ronovan Writes Haiku 364 – Tender / Who

On the journey’s edge
are nightshade’s tender blossoms
-who would question those

Beauty, danger lay in wait
Daily choices tempting fate

Ronovan Décima Poetry Challenge #24
“Look” In the C rhyme line

Art from Crate&Barrel

As family sagas are spun
Twisting turns of a story line.
Visions judged, challenges align
Chapters finished, others begun.

Someone’s vision that judged and done
Began journey without a look
Over mountains, a brand new nook.
Like most stories, beginnings start
Seeking truths, without a chart.
A never ending storybook.

I Am Here

Words and Image ©2017 Clarence Holm

I am here under sky
   That is endless.
I am part of the horizon
   That calls to me.
The wind that is blowing
   Across the prairie,
Is just one part
   Of me.

Some may call this land empty,
Pass through and never see
The majesty of tumbling thunder
That is part of life’s journey

A Journey Across The Grassland

Running to the horizon
I followed the whistling wind
Passing boulders on hillsides
That witnessed countless morning suns.

I listened to distant echoes
Of thunder struck long ago,
Captured in dark, deep valleys
Carved by summer storms.

Forests of cottonwoods
Giving shelter to life
Reaching to the heavens
While dancing in the breeze.

The story of the prairie
Surrounds me through the day.
A journey across the grassland
Shared by all who came this way.
