Haiku 2-18-2018c

My third post! 40-50 mph winds blowing on the plains today, can’t see beyond the yard. Fireplace burns and cat is in my lap!

howling winter wind
carved furrows of dirt and ice
hot chocolate poured

                     -Clarence Holm

Revised version – Thanks Lynn

howling winter winds
dance on fields of soil and ice
stirred my cocoa mug

Haiku 2/14/2018

Written on a winter walk-

shimmering branches
suspended from winter sky
squirrel tracks in rhyme

~

melting april snow
tumbling from church gable
glisten on snowdrift

~

red dogwoods
floating in wind packed snow
sports a nibbled branch

~

spring promise
by the frozen field
— bare lilacs

~

white horizon
quivering in time
lit by blue sky

                   -Clarence Holm

That’s Italian!

Grandma’s garlic press
Cherished relic of her life
Pesto’s final touch

Fragrant memories captured then
Bit of spices she’d put in
