Running to the horizon
I followed the whistling wind
Passing boulders on hillsides
That witnessed countless morning suns.I listened to distant echoes
Of thunder struck long ago,
Captured in dark, deep valleys
Carved by summer storms.Forests of cottonwoods
Giving shelter to life
Reaching to the heavens
While dancing in the breeze. The story of the prairie
Surrounds me through the day.
A journey across the grassland

Dream
I am
just a simple man,
who dreams
to find his way
along life’s road to adventure
through rocks
that come my way.
Soaring with
the prairie wind
and riding
the thunder clouds,
I want
to pierce the clear blue skies
With God’s own lightning bolts.
It’s there I’d like to leave my mark
To tell the world that I was here.

monarch of the wind
yields to the summer storm yet
sustains its resolve
