grey covers my soul
when winters edge slices through
last colors of fall
Mocking Jays cover-
rebellions call to alarm
changes color scene
in endless cover
Gnowee colors the night sky
ceaseless mourning son
shifting sound color
turns night’s darkness into sight
when fear seeks cover
culture of cover
kept race in lines of color
protest lives matters
Hi! All great haiku! I love the one that references the Hunger Games movie. So cool! 😉
Thanks for the comment. Sometimes it’s just nice to know someone took the time to read the posts.
This quite a collection Clarence…I think my favourites are 1,4,5…and the art..really ties in well.
I think I enjoyed learning of the mythology of Gnowee (holding a torch and circling the dark earth while endlessly searching in the blackness for her lost son) the most.
I can understand that. The Gnowee reference went over my head. So the sun is her torch… 🙂
My goodness, good effort! I am relieved to accomplish one with each challenge never mind five and all so well done. Also interesting how many referenced the colour grey this week. Enjoy the weekend.
So hard to not be influenced by this weeks weather.
An amazing spread of haiku Clarence but I love the first best.
Thanks Denis, I love it when people pick favorites or rank the works. It nice to know what strikes people or inspires them.
